The Public Testimony of Solomon’s Porch Christian Community Against Abortion & Our Call For the Complete Abolition of Abortion in The United States Of America
To Whom It May Concern,
Historic Christian Faith on Life
The historic Christian Faith is the teachings of Jesus Christ, the writings of the holy apostles, and the prophets. The Bible, the book that contains the sacred writings, is a perennial best seller. It teaches that the world is in a fallen state and that we human beings are inclined in our nature to do evil and not good. The Apostle Paul says that we are “inventors of evil.” (Romans 1:30) We agree with the apostle. We are inventors of evil and one of the greatest evils we invented is abortion.
Abortion Is A Moral evil
Abortion is one of the most ignoble forms of evil. In abortion we see the laws of nature turned on their head. First, the act of abortion turns a mother’s natural love turns to malice and murder. Second, we see the arrogance of humanity as one human being chooses whether another human being lives or dies based on their personal choice. Third, we use latin phrases to dehumanize children. “Fetus” is latin for “child.” We try to deceive our national conscience with these efforts. However, we know abortion is murder.
The Scriptures themselves declare,
- Man is the image of God (Genesis 1:27).
- Also, God became man and dwelt among us in Christ (John 1:14)
- And Murder is morally wrong (Exodus 20:13)
- Children are blessings from God (Psalm 127:3-5)
- Subsequently children occupy a special place in God’s economy (Matthew 18:10)
- It is our responsibility to protect from moral evil (Matthew 18:5)
Summary
In Summary: Abortion is an assault on the Triune God, the incarnate Christ, the whole of mankind, the economy of God, children, and the natural order of the created world. We will refrain from being overly tedious. The clear teachings of nature and Scripture demand we love, guard, care for, and not harm in any way, children. We condemn the act of abortion as a heinous public sin that should be prayerfully repented of by the American Church and State.
Conclusion
Finally, we the Consistory and members of Solomon’s Porch Christian Community, call for the complete abolition of abortion in the United States of America. We commit ourselves to serve children, both the unborn and born, as well as their mothers and fathers to the best of our ability.
