Sermon Series Saturday

In our inaugural Sermon Series Saturday episode we will begin exploring our Discipleship and Christian Discipline Series by taking an in-depth look at the Creation Mandates. Solomon’s Porch Christian Church was a cold parachute drop church plant that began in my living room in La Vergne, TN in 2016. You’ll notice my fireplace in the background. Don’t panic, we are not a home church, though where a church meets is a circumstance in reformed worship. As soon as we could afford to become a public body, we did. We now meet in the Smyrna Senior Center.

Our Beginnings

From 2008-2016 I ministered out of bounds as an associate pastor in a non-reformed church. Discipleship & Christian Discipline began a set of talks that I gave to high school students and grew from there. Early on I also worked for another non-profit, Rescue 1 Global, an anti-human trafficking ministry. I still work with them as a volunteer, heading up their Prevention Outreaches. Great ministry! Discipleship & Christian Discipline: Our Magnum Opus

I consider the Discipleship & Christian Discipline Series to be my Magnum Opus. SPCC as a body is committed to expositional preaching as a general course. However, from time to time I will pause a series and explore a topic. This was the first topical series we did—and also the longest. It’ll probably stay the longest.

Finally, as you can see from the rest of our site, SPCC is not only committed to discipleship but also Historic Reformed Theology–not the watered-down, compromised version that emerged in the early 20th century after the Fall of Princeton.
